A Flower a Day for February .

I expect this will be the last lily photo of the season (ignoring the daylilies, of course, who are just getting started) because this is the last--and best--of our lilies to blossom. This one's a bit of a surprise, actually. The plant's been growing beside the yuccas for several years, but it's never blossomed before. Last year, in fact, it grew up badly twisted and frankly looked quite weird. This year, though, the plant's glorious. Nearly six feet tall and fully mature, dwarfing every nearby plant. I'm quite pleased.

I think they called this color "Champagne." We've a similarly-colored Daylily, which I'll likely show you one of these days.

We've nine or ten garden plots scattered around the yard, each with its own personality (and flowering season). Two--we call them "Front" and "Window" for reasons that are obvious enough--we've designed to flower year-round.
