This fellow--his name was Brutus or something of the sort--was king of the 71st Evac complex in 1971. Pleiku, Republic of Vietnam. & someone did a wonderful job on that sidewalk.... ======== Promised you dogs . Think I may do this for the next few Thursdays.

Hey, I didn't name her.... I forget whose dog this was originally, but when that guy was rotated home, Frodo decided she was mine (or perhaps that I was hers; that was never really clear). Not sure what she saw in me, but it was clearly what she'd decided. Frodo wasn't a really popular dog; she had a tendency to snap at folks she didn't know, or didn't like. Caused me occasional problems, including a discussion one evening with the Captain. Shortly after this photo was taken, I was rotated home, and she presumably became someone else's dog. Needless to say, our cats were skeptical. Returned from an errand this morning and this guy rushed out of our garage to greet me in the driveway. He's a really friendly fellow with far too much energy. He lives a few doors down and occasionally escapes from his keepers, at which times he greets everyone he meets and terrorizes the outdoor cats.
