There were a few that were still just opening, and I thought that might just make an interesting shot. Day trip to the upstate in Greenville County, SC. Most of these images were taken in or near the Eva Chandler Heritage Preserve. Spring is so full of blooming plants in the upstate -- we are fortunate to live where we do... The normal color (in our area) for this orchid is a medium to deep pink. However, in one location in the upstate, the orchid has a decidedly white portion on the front portion of the slipper or lip. I've not seen this at any other locations...
