This area is part of the Natural Park that begins further north in the southwest of Alentejo and constitutes the largest stretch of Portuguese coast subject to protection. The beaches succeed each other, sometimes with extensive sands as far as the eye can see, or smaller ones framed by grandiose cliffs of schist and limestone. Known as Costa Vicentina, the stretch of coast between Odeceixe and Burgau is a different Algarve, where the preserved nature has a strong and wild character, which translates into breathtaking landscapes.
