This stamp is one of five in a series of Dinosaurs from Bulgaria. If you'll notice right above the dinosaur's back, there is an asteroid getting ready to crash into the earth. That dinosaur doesn't have long to live because the asteroid could be signalling the extinction level event that wiped them all out. Poor guy. Stamps can be so very interesting!

The Ryukyu Islands are a chain of islands in the western Pacific Ocean, just off the east coast of Japan. The Ryukyu Kingdom was formally annexed by the Empire of Japan in 1872. During World War II, following the Battle of Okinawa, the islands came under the occupation of the United States military in 1945, and a civilian government was set up under American control in 1952. The islands reverted to the control of Japan in 1972. The first definitive stamps of the Ryukyu Islands were issued on July 1st, 1948, and the final Ryukyu Island stamp was issued on April 20th, 1972. This Ryukyu Islands stamp in my collection is from 1967. It depicts the Hojo Bridge at the Enkaku Temple. Collecting stamps can be very rewarding, due to the history behind some of the stamps.

This appears to be a UFO, (unidentified flying object) on this Cuban stamp from 1982. As part of my stamp collection, I collect stamps that depict aircraft and stamps about space.

The Legend Of Sleepy Hollow, inspired by the Washington Irving story of the same name, has always been a favorite stamp of mine in my collection.

This stamp was dedicated to the television show "Star Trek." It's always been on of my favorite shows.

Though not a real stamp, it is made like a stamp and was intended to be used on a letter.
