Some of the natural rock formations that are found around Southern Illinois. This one is along the Devil's Tablestand Trail. This rock looks like it's problems with woodpeckers. I wonder if they have any rockpeckers? I was out shooting for International Film Buying Day and International Communist Camera Day and stopped off just in time to catch the sunset over Crab Orchard Lake. It's about 50 miles away from where I live. Each year in May, I celebrate Turko de Mayo. This was 2018's version. It's my own holiday and I created it because the traditional meal we have at Thanksgiving, in November, is my favorite meal of all. By creating a holiday in May, I get to have the same foods featured in a Thanksgiving dinner twice a year. Turko de Mayo for me includes, of course, a golden brown turkey, mashed potatoes and gravy, stuffing, green beans with smoked sausage, homemade rolls, cranberry sauce and pumpkin pie. It seems like an extravagant meal, but it will last me a week and a half, plus I'll put a gallon freezer bag or two full of the leftover turkey meat into the freezer to make something with later. Late one night down the street I live on. The lens I used for this picture was broken and only had one aperture - wide open. That's why it's not as sharp as I would have liked it to be. Plus, the focal point was off. The lens was basically in two pieces and I taped it together to be able to use it. That's probably what threw off the focus.
