This is one of the last of the Black-Eyed Susans still hanging on in my yard. As a matter of fact, there were only two flowers in my yard this week, this one and a small rose, so there wasn't much in the way of flower subjects to choose from for the challenge this week. For the Saturday Self-Challenge group, whose theme this week was "Flowers Straight Out Of The Camera." Taken with my Russian camera – a Zenit ET. It was taken to test my Sears 50mm prime lens on the Zenit body. Other than processing the film, there was no other post-processing used to get it to look like this - it's basically straight out of the camera, except for reducing the size for the internet. Unfortunately, I had to leave the bug bite holes in the leaves, as I wasn't allowed to clone them out. Developing Chemicals: Unicolor C-41 Water pre-soak: 1 minute at 102 degrees Developer: 3 mins. and 30 secs. at 102 degrees Water rinse: 2 minutes (to keep chemicals clean) Blix: 6 ½ minutes at 102 degrees Water rinse: 2 minutes at approx. 100 degrees Stabilizer: 1 minute at room temperature Water rinse: 2 minutes Kodak Photo-Flo 200: 1 minute This was the 19th roll of film I've managed to develop with this same 1-litre kit. Just picked up this teleconverter for my Minoltas, in anticipation of the total solar eclipse to hit an hour away next month. I plan to be on the scene of the greatest amount in duration of the eclipse with several cameras in use, along with some backups. This piece of camera equipment is just the last piece I needed to complete the picture of all I need. The last time North America had a total eclipse was in February 1979, which I photographed. Although it wasn't a total eclipse here where I'm located then - this time, however, it's going to be total!
