Everybody knows that cookies from a cow taste better! Taken at our annual local street fair called "Dairy Days." Since my town was founded by people that had dairy farms and cattle, that's why we celebrate that fact every Autumn. This cookie jar was used as decoration for the event. Taken on September 23rd, 2016, with my Sony Alpha SLT-a77V DSLR.

Recently, we celebrated our town's local street fair/fall festival and the museum we have downtown that specializes in the history of our town, (Norris City), was open for the occasion. One of the people that manage the museum is named Ludene Taylor. Mrs. Taylor was the local high school's art teacher until she retired; and she taught me art back in the 1970s. I happened to bump into her this past week and she asked me to come to the museum, as she had some photographs for me. She said she's 89 now and wanted to make sure the pictures she took through the years of all her art classes wouldn't get thrown away after she passed on. So, she gave them all to me. There was a whole tote's worth of pictures! I felt quite honored that she chose me to be entrusted with them. But then, I am kind of the local photographer around town and everybody knows that. This was taken three years before I was born and the float pictured seems to represent some local newspapers. The 3 girls are throwing out candy to the waiting kids.

They were setting up rides for Norris City Dairy Days, our annual street fair that starts tomorrow. This was one of the horses on the merry-go-round. I shoot a lot of expired film and sometimes it comes out pretty grainy. Surprisingly, this roll that has been expired for almost 20 years turned out pretty good. I guess shooting it at 3 stops below box speed was the trick.
