An Old Fashioned Christmas
| 22 Jan 2024 |
|
|
In Christmas times past, the family would gather around, Grandmother would get out her box camera and she would memorialize the moment with a careful snapshot of the day.
This was what my family’s Christmas tree looked like back in 1977. Somehow, the negative got a little fogged along the edges, but it lends it the look from times past. This was my fifth camera.

Cardinal Lane In Pinhole
| 22 Jan 2024 |
|

The start of the little lane across the street that goes around the houses that line the street where I live. It’s called Cardinal Drive. The reason the picture is crooked is because I used some cut-down 120 film and it's hard to tell in the dark when you're loading it if you got it straight or not.
Taken with my eighty-seventh camera.

Alley At Night
| 13 Jul 2023 |

A small alleyway in the middle of my town photographed at night with a long timed exposure. It was taken with a cheap little point and shoot camera and the street lights caused some lens flares.
The camera is broken, so I had to tape it to a tripod and be careful exposing the negative for such a long time.

This was taken at 2.31 in the morning one snowy night back on January 12th, 2019. It was a long 30 second exposure, so that's why the sky is so bright. Taken with my Sony Alpha SLT-a77V DSLR.

The sun was setting to the right of this image and the only light there was is what came through my library window into the dining room, reflected off my silver station wagon. This exposure was about 25 seconds and taken with my Sony Alpha SLT-a77v DSLR.
Be sure to check out the notes on the picture.

Comet Neowise
| 25 Jul 2020 |
|
So, today I found out that there was supposed to be this comet visible in the sky that was the brightest in recent memory. I did a little research and found out that yesterday, July 23rd, 2020, it was at it's brightest. I figured tonight ought to be just about as bright, so I went out looking for it.
I got lucky and was able to get the best shot possible with my DSLR from right in my driveway. I took several shots and this one was one of the best I could get out of my equipment. But at least I got a useable image out of. it Like I did with Hale-Bopp back in 1997.
It's actual name is Comet C/2020 F3 (Neowise.)
There's just so many fascinating things under the heavens and earth that make me glad to be alive and to be able to see some of these wonders.
