This is a photograph of some distant relatives of mine on my Mother's side, taken in the 1800's. Sepia tone and all. People can sometimes look quite severe from a past era like this. I wouldn't want to meet that woman in a dark alley! Edit to add: The back of the picture lists these people as being Aunt Lizzie and Uncle E.B. Sansom; Grandpa Bowle's sister and family. The Grandpa Bowles in question would have been my Grandmother's grandfather. My Mom's mom was Lolove Wright, nee Garrett and her Mom's name was Ella Garrett. My Mother was named after her Grandmother, Ella Garrett, so my Mom's name was Ella Carolyn Wright. (Until she married Dad and became a Harrelson) She went by Carolyn, though. So, this couple would have been my Great-Great-Grandfather Bowles' sister and her husband.
