This sign is hanging by the deli counter at my local market. They grow a lot of pork and beef around this area and this market sells a lot of fresh, "home grown" meat.

This is a pork chop I had at Patti's restaurant. They pride themselves on their pork chops being 2 inches thick. Patti's is part of Patti's 1880s Settlement, which is a complex of things to show what life was like back in the 1800s. It's located in Grand Rivers, Kentucky. Taken on November 8th, 2013, with my Sony Alpha SLT-a77V DSLR.

This is what I made for dinner last night, Silesian Pork, also known as Schlesisches Himmelreich in it's native part of Germany. Of course I also served it with the traditional Silesian potato dumplings. I used apples, prunes and apricots for the fruit. I have to say that it was delicious!

Now, THAT'S a BLT! If I'm not mistaken, they said they used a whole pound of bacon on it. I know I couldn't eat it in one sitting, so it made more than one meal.
