Emergency!

There was just a major fire in my town, about six blocks from my house. A lumber store caught fire, with a gas station on either side of it at risk of burning. I saw fire trucks and emergency vehicles from a lot of the communities in this area. Fortunately, they were able to contain the fire and avert the possibility of one of the gas stations catching fire and going up in a big explosion. Firefighters are a special breed.
Taken on June 2nd, 2024 with my Sony Alpha SLT-a77V DSLR.

It was chilly Sunday evening, so I lit my fireplace for the first time this season. Boy, was it nice and warm! I even roasted some marshmallows over the fire.
The Fire Is So Delightful

The weather outside is frightful - it was 12 degrees F yesterday and the wind chill was well below zero. But the fire is so delightful, I've got a good book and some hot chocolate and I'm fairing well.
Looks like I really need to clean off the mantle and organize it!
Hotdog

I gathered up some more downed limbs around my yard yesterday, November 10th, 2014, and decided to burn them with the last of the brush I had cleared away and that didn't all burn up at the bonfire party I had Saturday night. Once I got the fire going good, I figured - no need to waste a good fire and so I roasted some hotdogs and marshmallows for lunch.

I had a bonfire and cookout in my backyard Saturday night and these are the friends that came over - Ian, Tim and Ginger, and Charity and Missy. We roasted hot dogs and marshmallows and enjoyed the fire. I even broke out some of my homemade wine and passed it around.
Sparks

I had a bonfire in my backyard Saturday night and invited some friends over. We all had a great time and it was perfect weather to get next to a blazing fire. It's always fun to watch the sparks fly up through the air.
