Fish Cakes

18 Oct 2025 3 2 64
I made these fish cakes for dinner last night. They were.... interesting. Taken on October 17th, 2025, with my Sony Alpha SLT-a77V DSLR. Update: They tasted much better when I rewarmed them for lunch today. I guess they just needed more time for the flavors to all infuse together.

This is what I fixed for dinner last week - stir-fried noodles with marinated fish. It used the orecchiette pasta from the last picture. The fish was diced up into little pieces and don't show very well, but they're there. Taken on February 1st, 2025, with my Sony Alpha SLT-a77V DSLR.

Nelson Flounder Filets On New China

07 Apr 2022 1 3 216
A recent meal I made and served on my new china. The dish is called Nelson Flounder Filets and I got the recipe out of a cookbook by Graham Kerr. The china is called "Blue Willow," and it's made in England. It's always been my favorite pattern - my Grandmother had some dishes with this pattern. Oh, yes - the potatoes were parsley butter potatoes, baked.

This is the dish I made for dinner tonight, a recipe called "Nelson Flounder Filets." I took the recipe out of the Graham Kerr Cookbook, pictured below. The recipe was number 25 in that volume. The recipe turned out real flavorful, although I did make one slight change. Instead of the clarified butter it called for, I used some Irish butter instead.

Grilled Salmon

24 Feb 2018 12 17 683
Last Saturday, this is what I fixed for lunch - grilled salmon with sugar snap peas and some sunrise medley bite-sized potatoes. I marinated the salmon overnight then sprinkled it with dill weed and grilled it using my panini maker to give it those gorgeous kind of grill marks. The potatoes were cooked with butter and parsley, while the peas were sauteed using garlic and butter.

This is what I fixed for dinner tonight - Salmon with celery garlic sauce. The celery and garlic were sauteed in butter and I also added parsley and crushed red pepper. It was very flavorful! That recipe's a keeper.
