This is the first apple on some trees I planted in my backyard on March 6th, 2016. I was so happy to discover it! It looks like it might have gotten cross-polinated from one of the Fuji apple trees or something - it's certainly mottled, unlike the normal Grannie Smith apples that grow in my backyard on my established tree.

For some reason, I've always been fond of Granny Smith apples.

This is a closeup of a blossom on one of my Granny Smith apple trees. Most of my apple trees are blooming except for a couple that I planted this year - but, they're about to bloom. Taken on April 13th, 2016. Ah, the mysteries and subtleties of life - this is almost it's own little world.

I was walking around my yard today, taking stock of how it was doing and found that my front apple tree is in full bloom! There's nothing like Spring! Except maybe Autumn when the apples get ready to eat.

I always wondered if a clear crystal apple would even have a shadow. Well, I found out it does. For The Sunday Challenge group, who's theme this week was shadows.
