Part of a group of wild turkeys I spotted over by Rend Lake, here in Southern Illinois. Taken on May 28th, 2013, with my Sony Alpha a230 DSLR.

This is the price of Turkey, both in 2010 and yesterday, November 15th, 2022. As you can clearly see, you could get a nearly 21 pound bird, at .40 cents per pound, for $8.33. Today turkey costs $1.99 per pound and the price has shot up to $26.05 for a turkey that only weighs 13 pounds. Hang on, friends, inflation and ruin is not finished yet. Please be safe.

I cooked this turkey last week when I made a big batch of turkey vegetable soup to can up. Now, I've had some recent practice and tomorrow's bird should turn out fine for Thanksgiving! Er.... later today on Thanksgiving. It's late and I just finished making 9 homemade pumpkin pies.

3 of the 11 wild turkeys I saw driving along the road the other day. Well, I was driving - they were in a field. It sure would have been nice to lure a couple of them into my car and take them home for you know what....
