Separating the components required me to devise a restraining mount for the assembly while I knocked out a pin which held it all together. I found that the high voltage coil had a leakage resistance to earth, that the ignitor module was faulty and observed that the tape protecting the windings on the pickup coil had mostly rotted away. All three were replaced and the motor worked again. September 2016.
