242/366 what's wrong

30 Aug 2020 4 4 144
52 weeks of 2020, week 34 What is wrong with this picture? ... the composition, and crop, as the Kookaburra is not the prime focus, not following the two thirds rule, very busy with all the gum leaves. Also very distant so the kookaburra is not very sharp... although I do like the result anyway :-) Kookaburra on a gum tree, New South Wales, Australia The Laughing Kookaburra native to eastern Australia makes a very familiar call sounding like raucous laughter. Their call is used to establish territory among family groups, most often at dawn and dusk. One bird starts with a low, hiccuping chuckle, then throws its head back in raucous laughter. Often several others join in. If a rival tribe is within earshot and replies, the whole family soon gathers to fill the bush with ringing laughter. Hearing kookaburras in full chorus is one of the more extraordinary experiences of the Australian bush. natureaustralia.org.au

Kookaburra, Possum, Parrots, Pelican. Wappa Dam is located west of Yandina in the Sunshine Coast hinterland. The dam was constructed in 1963 on the South Maroochy River and supplies drinking water to the interconnected supply network. The lake has a catchment area of approximately 69.7km2 and holds 4694 megalitres of water at full supply. Spillway Lookout The lookout at Jack Harrison Park located at Wappa Park Road, Kiamba, is a great place to view the dam when it is spilling. Wappa Dam recreation guide

Kookaburra Print

Section of print bought at the Eumundi Markets in Queensland. By local Artist Misha. The reflection in the photo is another print (different artist) on the opposite wall. Misha was born in Yugoslavia in 1948 and began to draw literally as soon as he could hold a pencil. His creative efforts continued after moving to Australia in 1959 and led to formal training at Swinburne Technical College in Melbourne. The learning process has continued to this day and has been in the more pleasant surrounds of the Sunshine Coast in Queensland for the last 20 years... Virtually all of Misha's work is sold through the famous Eumundi markets on the Sunshine Coast in Queensland. His art is displayed at these markets on Wednesdays and Saturdays. misha.com.au 24/31 March Pale Blue, 12 months/365 Days in Colour.
