Also on the east side of the creek, but closer to the house and more easily accessible, was an area that might described as a sanctuary. It included an elaborate waterfall/fountain (this picture), and a grotto (next pictures). Tropical Terrace site (see description in adjacent picture).

Just past the post at the top was the landing for what had been a rope (actually cable) bridge across the creek that led to what looked like a barbecue patio. Due to the sun and location, I couldn't find a good way to get a picture of the patio. Tropical Terrace site (see description in adjacent picture).
