The fire tower at Hat Point. Climbing it was difficult for me since I have a little bit of acrophobia (fear of heights) and the stairs are very exposed -- and it was fairly windy. Luckily there was a group of men my age going up at the same time and a couple of them had acrophobia as well, so we just made jokes of it. Proof I made it..

Looking west from the fire tower over the Hat Point Road. It's a 25 mile drive over gravel, with some sections being very steep, including a section that (if my memory is correct) was labeled as a 16% grade, which was one lane on the edge of a cliff on relatively loose gravel.

It is possible to go up to the very top, but doing that required climbing a ladder for the last 2 flights -- couldn't do that!
