Roll, AZ Antelope Hill Army post? (2295)

An odd structure that I thought might have been a latrine. The rock walls curl into a fairly well-enclosed area that could have been a toilet area. One of the reasons I suspect this was once military is the US property sign on the left that looks similar to signs on old military bases.

Antelope Hill apparently has many petroglyphs that are easily seen. It was too hot to hike up the hill, but petroglyphs can be seen on the rock in the center of the picture (noted). This is a severely cropped picture, so not much more detail is provided in the larger version.

Unmaintained display at Antelope Hill, a historical site with many petroglyphs near Roll, AZ. There were several posters at the site all with sun damage, this was the only vaguely readable.

About 30 miles north of Alamogordo, in what appears to be a very barren area, is Three Rivers Petroglyphs. Getting there is fairly easy, but the area was very empty of tourists, so you can enjoy it pretty much on your own. The petroglyphs date from 900 to 1400 AD, though there are clearly some markings that were made by more recent explorers through the area.

Two abandoned structures in what may have been Palisade. Considering their constructoin, it looks like they may have been storage units for explosives.
