Loch Tarff

This loch is in the hills above Loch Ness on the south side. For those of you who have seen the film Local Hero (and if you haven't, you really should!), this is where they park up for the night in the fog. Stepping stones

01 Jun 2012 1 240
These stepping stones cross the outlet from Loch Obasaraigh to Loch Euphort which you need to cross to get to Eaval (seen in the background). While these stones were easy to cross on the way to the hill, on the walk back, after it had been raining, they were so slippery we ended up just wading across the river.

Castle Stalker

Castle Stalker sits on an island in Loch Laich, an inlet off Loch Linnhe, near the village of Appin. It actually appears in MP's Holy Grail. The photo was taken from the Jubilee Bridge which is a footbridge crossing the tidal mudflats.
