The coach was on one of the company’s ‘Classic Day Tours’. CCS regularly ran tours of this type which involved night travel overnight Friday night to the destination and travelling back home overnight Saturday night thus giving something like 10 hours at the destination. Arriving in Edinburgh at 0720 we had a short break before being joined by a local guide for a 90 minute tour of the city. Note the missing letter ‘S’ in the fleetname following a repair to the front nearside corner of the coach.

The acropolis style monument was intended to be a memorial to the soldiers who died in the Napoleonic Wars being funded by local donations. However, it remained unfinished. Our local guide told us that the organisers drank away the proceeds resulting in a lack of funds to complete the monument. The coach was on one of the company’s ‘Classic Day Tours’. CCS regularly ran tours of this type which involved night travel overnight Friday night to the destination and travelling back home overnight Saturday night thus giving something like 10 hours at the destination. Arriving in Edinburgh at 0720 we had a short break before being joined by a local guide for a 90 minute tour of the city.
