Sunday 28 July 2002 – Þhingvallaleið operated services to the Þhingvellir National Park and to Grindavík via the Blue Lagoon - all popular tourist destinations. The company operated at least two of these unusual Mercedes-Benz coaches and TY 292 was seen on a morning hotel pick-up in Reykjavík.

Sunday 28 July 2002 – Þhingvallaleið operated services to the Þhingvellir National Park and to Grindavík via the Blue Lagoon - all popular tourist destinations. The company operated at least two of these unusual Mercedes-Benz coaches. TY 292 was seen loading for Reykjavík at the Blue Lagoon, a geo-thermal hot water bathing spot. Note that it carries the BSÍ logo which is the association of scheduled coach operators.

Monday 29 July 2002 – Þhingvallaleið operated at least two of this unusual style of Mercedes-Benz coach. FÞ 049 was parked at the BSÍ coach terminal for most of the day on Monday 29 July 2002. Note that it carries BSÍ logo - the association of the scheduled coach operators that ran the coach terminal on the operators behalf. Þhingvallaleið operated services to the Þhingvellir National Park and to Grindavík via the Blue Lagoon - all popular tourist destinations.

Saturday 27 July 2002 - BSÍ (Bifreðastöð Íslands) operated the main coach terminal in Reykjavík used by the individual operators of services to destinations beyond the capital. These different coach operators appeared to be members of BSÍ, an association which also marketed the service network. The BSÍ logo as carried on a coach owned by Sæmundur Sigmundsson.

Monday 22 July 2002 - Coaches seen at Geysir operating scheduled services primarily for tourists, services which pause for a while at a number of sightseeing locations on their route. Austurleið-SBS X 878 Reykjavík was working service 2, a circular service departing Reykjavík at 0830 arriving back at 1655 calling at Geysir and Gullfoss, two very popular tourist locations. The company was formed in 1999 when Austurleið merged with SBS based in Selfoss. This Mercedes-Benz O 302 coach was with the latter company and carries their livery. SBA-Norðurleið R 47019 was working the 0900 service from Reykjavík to Akureyri via the Kjolur highland route arriving at Akureyri at 1810. The company also operated what was the all year round main road route service between the two cities which took 6 hours. The company was formed in February 2001 when Sérleyfisbílar Akureyrar merged with Norðurleið-Landleiðir. This Scania coach was with the latter company and carries their livery.

Friday 26 July 2002 - As a result of acquisition and expansion, SBA-Norðurleið based in Akureyri also has operational bases in Reykjavík and Husavík. The latter Icelandic town, which is close to the Arctic Circle, is the location of this Volkswagen mini-coach, LK 027.

Saturday 27 July 2002 - The forty plus fleet of SBA-Norðurleið contains varied sized vehicles, mostly Mercedes-Benz. TK 342, seen at the Glaumbær Folk Museum, has an Aüwarter Clubstar body.
