Sunday 30 April 2006 (approx 1030) - Sunday work came into being on my rota when, every third Sunday, I would drive on the Cambridgeshire County Council supported service 19 from Cambridge to Wisbech. I loved driving this route over the flat Fenland landscape. Burtons Coaches X196 FOR, a Caetano Nimbus bodied Dennis Dart, is seen at Wisbech bus station in the company of First Eastern Counties 20120 (P330 RVG), a Plaxton Premiere bodied Volvo B10M, working the 0840 Great Yarmouth to Peterborough service X1.

Sunday 30 April 2006 - Sunday work came into being on my rota when, every third Sunday, I would drive on the Cambridgeshire County Council supported service 19 from Cambridge to Wisbech. I loved driving this route over the flat Fenland landscape. Burtons Coaches X196 FOR, a Caetano Nimbus bodied Dennis Dart, is seen in Sutton (Sutton in the Isle) close to the city of Ely. The Isle of Ely is one of the higher spots in these parts being around 60 feet above sea level compared with about 3 feet elsewhere. The tower of St. Andrew's Church can be seen for miles around. It rises in four stages with clasp buttresses at the base then octagonal buttresses at the second stage and diagonally set cross buttresses on the third. The bell stage is topped with two octagonal lanterns one on top of the other. The lower one contains the clock face. The whole thing is topped with a little spire.

Sunday 30 April 2006 - Sunday work came into being on my rota when, every third Sunday, I would drive on the Cambridgeshire County Council supported service 19 from Cambridge to Wisbech. I loved driving this route over the flat Fenland landscape. Burtons Coaches X196 FOR, a Caetano Nimbus bodied Dennis Dart, is seen at the boundary sign of Sutton in the Isle. Sutton is close to the city of Ely and the Isle of Ely is one of the higher spots in these parts being around 60 feet above sea level compared with about 3 feet elsewhere. It was close to Sutton that Professor Eric Laithwaite's prototype Maglev linear induction motor powered hovertrain track was constructed during th 1960s and, in 1838, Samuel Birley Rowbotham made observations along a six mile stretch of the Old Bedford River which he claimed to show that the earth was flat leading to the formation of the 'Flat Earth Society' which survived until the 1980s.
