Friday 26 May 1967 - Highland Omnibuses CD10 (FGS 872) was a Duple bodied Bedford A4LB9 new in 1954 to the Achnasheen Hotel Company for operation on the mail bus service from Achnasheen to Aultbea and Laide. Highland acquired the bus services of the Hotel Company in March 1965 along with this bus which was seen at Achnasheen railway station.
Photo taken from on board the train bound for Kyle of Lochalsh which was waiting for the Inverness bound train to arrive. The line is single track with a passing loop here.
The bus had worked in from Laide via Aultbea, Gairloch and Kinlochewe to connect with the trains and after transferring mail and goods would return to the coast - a journey of around 45 miles.
