Tuesday 31 May 1966 – The last half cab single decker in Ramsbottom Urban District Council fleet was 17 (HTB 656) which had been new in April 1947 along with 18/19 (HTB657/8). They were Leyland PS1 models with rear entrance bodywork by Charles H Roe. 17 was seen at the garage in Stubbins Lane, Ramsbottom. This bus is now an exhibit at the Museum of Transport, Greater Manchester.

Mid 1950s at Blackpool - GDK 303, a Burlingham bodied Leyland Tiger PS1 new in 1948, loading for Oldham. The famous Blackpool Tower can be seen beyond the modern houses in Palmer Avenue from where the coaches entered the coach station property.

Based on the dates shown in the fleet list therein I have assumed that the two vehicles at the far right are LJ 8798 and TE 8291. By deduction the photograph was taken around 1950/1951 (KNE 674 was new in 1950 and FV 1071 left the fleet in 1951). From left to right (dates shown relate to the year in and the year out of the fleet. Thursday 13 June 2013 (1328) – This Barnaby bodied Leyland PS1 was new in 1947 to J Bullock and Sons. In 1950 Bullock merged with the West Riding Automobile Co and the bus passed to West Riding. It now runs tours to Greenway, Agatha Christie’s home now run by the National Trust, near Dartmouth in Devon. 66 years old!
