November 1970 – Empresa Catalina Marques, Palma de Mallorca 3 (M 662371) seen in Plaza España in Palma. This vehicle had higher backed seats and offered a higher degree of comfort than the other Marques vehicles and it appeared to be the regular vehicle on their longest service, that to Puerto de Andraitx a journey taking about 90 minutes.

November 1970 – Empresa Catalina Marques, Palma de Mallorca 3 (M 662371) seen here at the top of Avienda de Playa in Palma Nova when working towards Palma on the service from Puerto de Andraitx. This vehicle had higher backed seats and offered a better degree of comfort than the other Marques buses and it appeared to be the regular vehicle on this, their longest service, a journey taking about 90 minutes.

November 1970 – Empresa Catalina Marques, Palma de Mallorca 4 (M 666364) seen at Palma Nova when working the Palma to Santa Ponsa service. It is on the original highway linking Palma with the south west. In later years a newer highway/by-pass was built across the fields in the background. The location is near the top of Carrer Jaume 1 and Carrer Germans Moncada. The tall white hotel on the right is now known as the Palma Nova Palace Hotel which, at the time of my visit, was the Hotel Olympic where we stayed.

The location is near the top of Carrer Jaume 1 and Carrer Germans Moncada.

November 1970 – Empresa Catalina Marques, Palma de Mallorca 5 (M 666365) was seen at Santa Ponsa. At the time this was a small beach resort with limited development but when made a return visit 30 years later it was unrecognisable with a town centre with lots more hotels, shops, a bus station etc.

November 1970 – The newest buses during this visit operated by Empresa Catalina Marques, Palma de Mallorca were an identical pair numbered 7 (PM 127748) and 8 (PM 127749). I have read they were Hugas bodied Pegaso 5023/1 new in 1968. Number 7 was seen in Plaza España in Palma working the Magalluf service.

Monday 30 October 2000 - Empresa Catalina Marques, Palma de Mallorca 25 (PM 8900 Z) seen at Santa Ponҫa working a trip on service 7 to Peguera and Cala Fornells via the less direct rural route serving Calviá and Capdella.

Monday 30 October 2000 - Empresa Catalina Marques, Palma de Mallorca 25 (PM 8900 Z) seen at Calviá when setting down a number of local passengers. We had travelled on this bus from Santa Ponҫa. It was working service 7, a less direct route to Peguera and Cala Fornells via Calviá and Capdella. We visited Calviá in 1970 when it was a sleepy backwater – quite different 30 years later.
