Wednesday 26 August 2015 (1823) – The ‘bus station’ in Pateley Bridge is a lay-by really nowadays. It stands on part of ground that was where the West Yorkshire Road Car Company owned bus station and garage stood - the larger part of which is now covered by housing. Transdev Harrogate and District 306 (YC51 LXY), a Wright Renown bodied Volvo B10BLE new in January 2002 loads as the 1830 service 24 to Harrogate. The livery and branding is however for the Harrogate to Knaresborough service 1.

The livery and branding is however for the Harrogate to Knaresborough service 1.

The bus layby used today is much reduced.

The bus layby used today is much reduced.

The bus station and garage owned by the West Yorkshire Road Car Company once occupied this site to a point roughly where the end of the three storey building up the street on the right of the photograph. The bus layby used today is much reduced.

Thursday 27 August 2015 (1543) – Transdev Harrogate and District 1084 (PO51 MTX), a Wright Renown bodied Volvo B10BLE new to Lancashire United in December 2001, seen at Pateley Bridge leaving for Harrogate on the 1545 service 24. On schooldays this service would have started from Nidderdale High School. The houses on the left stand on the former trackbed of the Nidd Valley Light Railway which closed in the 1930s.

The bus layby is much reduced from the days when the bus station and garage owned by the West Yorkshire Road Car Company occupied the site including the ground upon which the houses on the left now stand.
