1972 Jaguar E-Type - FWW 630L

Seen this lovely old Jag at a few shows now and it always looks exceptionally clean ... that colour is so understated and suits the car really well.

1973 Jaguar E-Type Series 3 - VAT 777

12 Feb 2016 12 16 1713
This one is for Ann ... The E-Type Series 3 was introduced in 1971, with a new 5.3 L twelve-cylinder Jaguar V12 engine, uprated brakes and standard power steering. The brand new V12 engine was originally developed for the Le Mans series and the final engine could supposedly propel this 'big cat' from 0-60 mph in less than 7 seconds. The short wheelbase FHC body style was discontinued and so the V12 was available only as a convertible and 2+2 coupé. The newly used longer wheelbase now offered significantly more room in all directions. The Series 3 is easily identifiable by the large cross-slatted front grille, flared wheel arches, wider tyres, four exhaust tips and a badge on the rear that proclaims it to be a V12. Detail shot of, well of a car that really needs no introduction!

1964 Jaguar Mk2 - 9738 SM

The Mk2 Jaguar arrived in 1959 and went on to become one of the motoring icons of the Sixties before being replaced by the sensational XJ6.

1950 Jaguar XK120 - KRU 600

The Jaguar XK120 was manufactured by Jaguar between 1948 and 1954. It was the company's first sports car since the SS 100, which ceased production in 1940. The standard of finish on this one was superb, but for some reason I only came away with this detail shot ... I can only assume that there were always too many people around it to get a clean shot of it overall. Hopefully, I'll get another chance somewhere else to shoot it.

Even the badges on these old Jaguars were a work or art!

1966 Jaguar E-Type - EZJ 275

Okay, time to try and get a few more cars onto ipernity ... starting with another E-Type spotted at Harewood House back in 2011. Interestingly, although DVLA says it was manufactured in 1966, they also say it was only first registered in 1983 so I'm wondering could it be a kit car or was it a barn find?

Apologies for the processing around this one, but the background was pretty messy so I thought I'd try and tidy it up a bit.

Don't get me wrong, the car was nice, but it was really the bumper sticker and the quadruple exhaust that caught my eye!

This old Jag is the same age as me, but I have to say it is in much better condition!

1962 Jaguar MkII - HD 129

If the E-Type is a bit too racy for you, then how about this rather more sedate 3.4 Litre MkII, also from the Sixties?

1969 Jaguar E-Type - VVK 143G

Seems every time a magazine or a newspaper runs a poll of the world's most beautiful and desirable cars, the E-Type comes top ... just can't understand it myself!

Always a joy when you find a nice car in a quiet spot where you can (hopefully) take a decent photo, as was the case with this E-Type Jaguar.

Close up view of the front end of this stunning SS100 ... enough chrome for you?

The DVLA show this as a 1960's XJ6, which this clearly isn't. So, unless it's a replica I'm saying a Thirties/Forties SS100 ... what do you think?

1990 Jaguar Sovereign - H977 YJD

18 Dec 2013 1 702
Ironically, a recent contact one here was just telling me this week that he had a Sovereign many years ago and I reflected on how I'd not seen one for a while. Then yesterday would you believe I came across this! Not the best shot ever, but this one's for you Tom!
