Noctuidae, Cuculliinae Wingspan: 34mm.
In the UK this is generally a common Spring species, so it was rather surprising to see one of these come to our trap in November. Just one was recorded here, so it may be that it was an early individual triggered to emerge early.

Noctuidae, Cuculliinae Wingspan: 40mm.
A common species which appears to be widespread in Europe & the UK. All records were from after we arrived. 12 were recorded on our first night's trapping, and an additional 7 were recorded through the rest of the week.

EsG06 Allophyes alferoi

Noctuidae Wingspan: 42mm.
Picture taken by Madeline, but included here to make up a complete set of the species recorded at this location. Only appearing at the trap during our stay, 23 were recorded in the week. Originally considered the same species as Allophyes oxyacanthae (Green Brindled Crescent) seen in the UK. However there are a number of close species in Europe in this Genus, and the minor wing pattern variations indicate that this is actually the title on this picture.

One of the handful of first Noctuid species to appear in the UK Spring, it is quite prominent being geneally very pale. Some specimens can have a nice pink flush through the wings.
