The KENSINGTON TABERNACLE, POWIS SQ, W11 2AY This cultural activities centre is housed in a retired 19th century church very close to Portobello Road. This building, once known as the 'Taj Mahal of North Kensington' was built in the 1880s in 'Romanesque' style. There are various activity areas incluiding a large central space, which I saw being used successfully for a theatrical performance. The Tabernacle puts on a wide range of performances and exhibitions, which can be tracked on thier website.
