All the victims left their clothes and shoes behind, before entering the gas chambers of Auschwitz I. Several rooms display large quantities of shoes, clothes, personal objects, travel bags, children's toys and amputees' prosthesis: all these things were confiscated.

"Arbeit macht frei" (work liberates) was meant to make believe it was just a labour prisoners' camp. This camp, located in Oświȩcim, is now a memorial to its victims and describes what occurred there between 1941 and 1945. This site was classified as UNESCO heritage in 1979.

Located in Oświȩcim, it was a concentration camp to achieve extermination of those who were prosecuted by the Nazis, between 1941 and 1945. Every building and structure remained intact and preserved as a memorial of those dark times.
