"Fajã" is a piece of fertile flat land either on the coast, next to steep cliffs, or on the interior, next to rocks or mounts. One can find "fajãs" at Cape Verde, at Madeira and at Azores. This view was taken from Fonte Santa, in the steep winding descending road from Norte Grande, in northern São Jorge, Azores. HFW!
