Seen from the leaning tower (belfry), after the ascent of 217 stair steps. It's on the floor at the level of the entrance that you feel a slope under your feet - if you rotate your body, your knees must constantly adapt. On the stairs and on the top you don't feel the leaning of the building.

The construction of this cathedral began in the 13th century, but it was very slow. Some earthquakes delayed its conclusion, only in the 18th century. It stands in the historic centre of Silves, interior western Algarve.
