This chapter has nearly identical recipes for Pumpkin Pie and for Squash Pie. Even in the 1930s, every home cook worked diligently to trick kids into eating more vegetables. :D

Yeah, be sure to leave your wedding ring on while oiling up the bird. No way could this end with it accidentally roasting in the bottom of the pan and then getting crunched on by an unsuspecting guest. o_0

I love this picture. You'd rarely see actual half-eaten food in the fantasy land of old-time advertising. Of course, they're too demure to use such an earthy descriptor. [shrug]
Once again, the rule is that type and animal products should not share a page. This time, the "Combination Dishes and Leftovers" heading appears on the page before the photo. Layout consistency was for Commies, I guess.
