This one inspired those medallions that everyone's divorced dads wore to Studio 54 in the mid-1970s. (Originally posted to flickr on Feburary 3rd, 2011.)

So many weeks of work in that stifling hot kitchen. It's no wonder that in the end, Mom started hallucinating that the produce was alive and doing a ritual dance on the stove...

There are a lot of really nice illustrations in here. No artist's name given, unfortunately.

I haven't updated in awhile because I've been building an illuminated brussels sprout centerpiece to decorate the new dining room table. You'd be amazed at how long it takes to get the wires connected juuuust right. ;)

Let's take a moment to appreciate that the illustrator really wanted their work to at least look more enticing than the photos, even though they failed. :/

I really like the illustrations here, and considering this was still WWII, the quantity and color is pretty lavish. Mmmm... plateful of mystery veggie, followed by a gooseberry-currant jam sundae...? Maybe...?
