Saint-Pierre was erected in the typical style saintongeais within the 12th century. A Gothic choir and transept was added to the single nave church in the 15th century. Today Bois a small village (pop. ~500), but in medieval times the village must have had some importance.

The construction of the parish Saint-Pierre started in the 12th century, when the facade got erected in Romanesque sytle, typical for the Saintonge area. The apse was added to the structure some centuries later in Gothic style.
