The various named patterns of coat colours, mainly applicable to black & white cats, but also some other colourations, such as tabby and white. I've heard Mask and Mantle referred to as cape and mask. One of the main features of "Tuxedo" is the largely white chest & belly, which isn't so clear in this diagram. not my image : fair use & public information

Scan of a photo --- Ben and the Black & White Cat [that came for Christmas] ... Ben has allowed the cat to lie over his front leg and the two of them are purring at each other. {well, Ben's trying to purr in response} Slightly soft focus, taken some days before Chrimble 2021. The cat disappeared Boxing Day and, sadly, we haven't seen him since.

Breakfast being consumed by the cat that came for christmas. Surprisingly, bare or slippered feet were not seen as a threat, although bwc was not impressed with a pair of wellies or workboats (he avoided the first and hissed at the latter !)

The bowl of food is just to the right, he did (eventually) eat a few mouthfuls after many attempts. But he was so timid that the rest was consumed on the back step. An improvement from the previous visits when he would not even approach the house, or a food bowl if he could see anyone.
