Tucked behind the signal cabin were these two green sports cars ... [L] MWL 909 : a 1947 built 1250cc MGTC [ en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MG_T-type ] [R] FIB 4192 : a 1972 built 2500cc "Teal Tourer" [Bugatti Type replica ?] If itv is, then probably worth a LOT of money !

Pleased to be invited into the signal cabin, and had a personalised tour. Details : The box was rebuilt onto the present site during the 1990s [something to do with the River South Tyne, and operational reasons] - The brick-built base is by the STR, the upper [wooden] part is from Aindersby and the 21-lever Mckenzie & Holland frame is from Leeming Bar. [both places now on the Wensleydale Railway, and no, they can't have their kit back] The "Ship's Wheel" and the three nearest levers operate various aspects of the level crossing, which hails from How Mill on the Tyne Valley Line. This manual system is very rare.

Appears to have had a coat of paint quite recently. Controls the station area, including the level crossing into the car park.

The ex-Luffenham box, mounted on a blockwork base and internal stairway [for much needed security / anti-vandalism reasons] contains a 19-lever frame, recovered from Glendon North Junction, near Kettering. The train from Matlock uses the loop here to have the engine run around, before continuing the return to Rowsley South.
