Built by another manufacturer I wasn't aware of before this trip. . The King was built in 1906 by E. Borrows & Sons, Engineers, of Providence Works, Sutton, St. Helens as an 0-4-0 Well tank, and supplied to United Glass Bottle Co. Ltd, St. Helens Works, Lancashire. In 1923, The King was transferred by UGB to its works at Charlton, London SE, where it remained in service until the spring of 1967, when it was purchased by the Industrial Preservation Group. “The King” returned to Preston in late June 2024, and underwent testing before being scheduled for passenger services. . ribblesteam.org.uk/exhibits/steam/borrows-48-1906-the-king
