The interior of the K6 'phone box. That phone looks too old {it looks like one from the 1930s to me} ! I can still feel myself pressing in those buttons ... A was to pay for the call, and B *might* return unused coins to you.

The exterior of a telephone box, this is a K6 box - first introduced in 1935. These iconic boxes were pretty much ubiquitous in all areas of the UK* although updated designs were installed later [*and Crown dependencies]. The rise in mobile phones has meant their near total demise, although OFCOM has some rules to mandate their retention in certain places - and some 2,000 have been listed as architectural heritage.

This is the K6 version, introduced in 1935 ... Once ubiquitous in the streets of Britain, the rise of modern technology has been their downfall, but some still remain & have received listed status. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Red_telephone_box

GR wall-mounted post box in Allenheads Square, in the wall of the old bus garage. Still in use, with the next collection due 09:00 on Monday ... [GR stands for George V, so this was placed between 1910 and 1936] {I am informed that this is a rare "Ludlow" wood-carcass box}

Mind the Nettles ! Just a few yards from the Wasdale Head Inn [up from Wast Water]. Victoria R wall post box - built into a "dry" stone wall [although I suspect that there is *some* mortar around the box.

Pillar post box on Carlisle Station [platform ?]. Cypher is Edward VII with a Tudor Crown [1905 to 1910], although the focus is not as good as it could be.
