The state of this is embarrassing !!!!
It was carefully restored in 2009 before returning to Beamish, although it was originally stored under cover, it has been sadly neglected. A flip up shelf is missing [original material] and it needs a proper repaint.

The "Repair Department" from Reece's Electricals ...
This brought back some memories of my father in law - he worked for Morley's of Crawcrook, and all of this would have been familiar to him - tools and the objects under repair.
However, I do hope those CRT on that cupboard have been made safe and are firmly fixed in place. You do not want to be anywhere near an imploding CRT !

This is a tumble dryer ...
Built by Parnall's of Yate.
[My paternal grandfather and father were two of several relatives on that side of the family that worked for Parnalls during WW2}
My parent's in law had one of these, it was still working around 1985, maybe even later.
And it had a modified door handle.

A. Reece Ltd, Radio & Electrical Services ... one of two shop window displays of electrical goods, both large & small that could be found in any 1950s small town centre. The walls inside have smaller items on show.

I always look to see if this type of display has anything familiar --- in this case, the bronze coloured and cylindrical object on the left is a convection heater, I've got one ...
