A very splendid example of a Sunbeam ...

sbs[25] - bikes for auction

02 May 2025 1 1 64
This Matchless [a ???] stands among a whole host of m/bikes in the auction house display. The tiny wheels & frame in the right foreground belong to a "dragster" ... To see anything tasty in detail, you had to purchase a catalogue, as the display area was gated & policed - which I thought was a little disappointing.

sbs[25] - flowering cherry trees

Lovely display from these flowering cherry trees in the quadrangle in front of the main building at the Stafford County Showground, which was hosting the "International" motorbike show on the last weekend in April 2025.

sbs[25] - Brough Superior

02 May 2025 1 1 108
The "Brough Superior" marque was the featured make for 2025. I think this may be an SS100, as tghat engine looks like a JAP V-twin, but I'm not an expert on them. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brough_Superior

sbs[25] - Bantam Owner's Club stand

02 May 2025 1 46
BSA "Bantam" Owners Club stand, ranged from the early D1 / D3 up to the last model, the 14/4 ... . Had quite a chat with them, as I have a "bag o' hammers" myself, and we shared a few jokes --- one careful owner, referring to the PO Telegram Bikes that were sold off many years ago. . I'm not yet a member, as the fee is not a huge amount, I am thinking of joining. If they have a "spars scheme" or an insurance deal then I'll definitely sign up.

sbs[25] - AJSMOC stand

02 May 2025 1 71
A busy & crowded stand from the AJSMOC [AJS & Matchless Owner's Club]. Plenty to see and talk about ! [I've got one of each marque, currently the 650 twin is getting an overhaul, after the 250 had her turn up on the bench]

sbs[25] - D3 Bantam

02 May 2025 1 1 40
BSA "D3 Bantam" in decent original condition, daily runner. Engine rebuilt and "goes like stink" ... . 1957 built, 150cc two-stroke. [VOC 209]

sbs[25] - Matchless "G80"

02 May 2025 1 43
The oil tank says "G 80" - no it isn't, a G80 is a 500cc SINGLE, this has siamese exhaust pipes so is probably a 500cc twin. [I should know, I used to ride a G80S]. Apparently, Les Harris, a businessman started a new line in 1987, a 500 single he badged as the G80, powered by a Rotax, SOHC engine. Not overly successful as quite expensive ...

sbs[25] - BSA & ?

02 May 2025 1 70
BSA ... [WK 4982] and ??? bike under restoration {the note by the front wheel is a list of parts still required}
