s&w - the garage

That's "The Garage" ... note the petrol pump ! From 2006 to present [2025] it has been the workshop for Stanegate Restorations & Replicas. Unit K1. For the first three years we were in the left hand side [door & two windows], then we moved to the larger right hand side [three windows and door] until 2015[?] when we combined both sides into one operational workshop, there is a dividing wall with a connecting door. . not my image : fair use & public information

My attention was a little divided at this point ... That's one massive crawler grab crane - I presume it is used to unload sand / gravel / wood chips or similar bulk materials [not grain, there's better things for that]

ON594 "William Riley" [William Riley of Birmingham & Leamington] Built by Thames Ironworks, London in 1909 to a self-righting design by Rubie. Powered by 10 oars, cox, 2nd cox and bowman - No Sails. Stationed at Upgang and then Whitby. Sold out of service in 1931. Found derelict in Barnstaple and restored to sea-going condition in 2008 & used for fund-raising. . Oldest exRNLI lifeboat present. . Personally, I had quite a lot to do with retrieving and restoring her.
