Isobar chart with Storm Amy {1/4th October 2025} more or less centred over Scotland. The storm actually has two sets of fronts associated with it, the front forming the inner set is actually occluded ie the cold front has fully undercut and lifted the warm air segment - this usually produces very heavy rainfall. For the outer fronts the process is, maybe, half complete. The same situation applies to the much small low pressure system's fronts, located between Iceland and Norway. . not my image ; fair use & public information
