The remains of a spectacular running failure ... Chipped valve head, a piston that seized in the cylinder bore {effectively welding itself in place} causing holes in the skirt and surface deformations and a somewhat bent connecting rod. [From a marine diesel ?]

close-up of the maker's mark = CADDICK and Horseshoe Somewhat damaged ridge tile [removed to allow the loft extension to be built, some years before we bought the place]. Several of these, and the two finials now serve a wildlife habitat / garden ornaments. This one, along with a couple of clay drainage pipes made a home for a toad in my old, wooden greenhouse !

Somewhat damaged ridge tile [removed to allow the loft extension to be built, some years before we bought the place]. Several of these, and the two finials now serve a wildlife habitat / garden ornaments. This one, along with a couple of clay drainage pipes made a home for a toad in my old, wooden greenhouse !
