Indeed a rare sight - Perkins hauling the last service of the day, as it arrives at Dalegarth. I think that this is the first time I've seen Perkins out on the main line, running service trains, other than at a gala. Perkins is substituting for River Irt, who had failed [broken down] earlier in the day. The necessary repairs appeared to have been completed by the time the down train returned to Ravenglass, as R. Irt was back in the Engine Shed as we went past. HTT[24thJune2025] - the wider platform at Dalegarth, and additional nearby areas, are well supplied with tables & seats. {and shade, dog bowls etc}

The Museum opening special train - for invited guests - was hauled by River Irt, seen here about to leave Dalegarth turntable and run around the carriages.
