0-6-0ST "Fonmon" was built by Peckett in 1924 at Bristol. So, she is now over 100 yrs old. Named after the medieval Fonmon Castle in the Vale of Glamorgan. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fonmon_Castle Supplied to Aberthaw & Bristol Channel Portland Cement Co Ltd, it worked at their cement works and the Tumen Asbestos Works in Rhoose, South Wales. Originally preserved at the Avon Valley Railway, Bristol in the 1970s, where it worked until expiry of its boiler certificate in 1990. Last run was at Spa Valley Railway, 27/09/2009 when her ten year boiler ticket expired. Arrived at Preston on 11th July 2016. Peckett 1999 [ 0-4-0ST] was built in 1941 at Bristol, for the Southport Gas Company. 1963 saw the end of her working career in Darwen. Acquired in 1966 by KVWR and restored to working order but proved unsuitable for passenger work and came to Southport on long term loan in 1974. Harrogate's name and maker's plates were affixed during the restoration at the Bredgar & Wormshill Railway [Kent]. (more details in the caption to the previous image)

Harrogate : 0-6-0ST Built in 1944 by Peckett [Bristol] wksno 2050 . Originally built for Harrogate Gas Works, with a modified cab to pass under various obstructions. Sold in 1956 to the Festiniog Railway and unofficially named Volunteer, it was too heavy, too wide and the wheelbase too long for the line [I overheard the PW Manager expounding on the topic]. The FR sold it on to Bredgar & Wormshill Rly, who completed the restoration and provided the name & maker's plates. It then came to Statfold, and in due course visited Alston in 2017, where it met Barber, the first time the two had met in 60 years. [Note: Barber's cab profile has also been lifted, for crew safety reasons].

Liassic was built by Peckett [Bristol] during 1923, as an 0-6-0ST. . She, along with three other stablemates, worked for Rugby Cement at their Southam Works. Liassic arrived back - from Canada - in 2012 and was overhauled, entering service in 2017. . Note : her stablemates have also survived. [locations as at 2018, will check later] Triassic is at the Bala Lake Railway, Mesozoic is in a private collection in Herefordshire, and Jurassic is at the Lincolnshire Coast Railway, near Skegness.

0-4-0 DM "Austins No1" Peckett (built 1958 in Bristol, works no 5003). . In the late 1950's, Peckett attempted to diversify their business by entering the growing diesel market. Only five diesel locomotives were built of which "Austins No 1" is the only 0-4-0 survivor. (An 0-6-0DM, works no. P5014, built in 1959, is owned by National Power and preserved at Aberthaw Power Station in South Wales.) The locomotive was built in 1958 but it was not sold until 1961. For the next 10 years it worked for the West Yorkshire steel stockholders, James Austin & Son (Dewsbury) Ltd - thus the name. In 1971 the locomotive was no longer required by them and was moved to the Keighley and Worth Valley Railway on permanent loan, where it worked regularly until being withdrawn in the early 1990's. Following discussions between the Middleton Railway, the Keighley and Worth Valley Railway and the locomotive owners in 2001, "Austins No 1" was moved to the Middleton Railway where it underwent various modifications including the fitting of vacuum brake equipment to allow the working of passenger trains. Currently (2015) operational.
