O&S[B+T] - Kirkhouse, Brampton

Dug up out of my garden ... reads "Kirkhouse" & "Brampton" in a shallow frog {Dimensions ....} It will be used as part of the lawn edging, to retain the soft soil under the grass at the front of the house. I will need a few more to complete the design.

Looking closely at walls can tell the observer quite a lot about the history. This site has seen at least five buildings, including the one currently present. The base is on the site of "Clifford's Fort" this is part of "Molten" an art gallery / glass studio / gelato & cafe ... moltengallerycafe.com/news

Not a brick, as such, this would have been used as a paving stone. Often used on wet platforms and cattle docks or sheds.
