The ropework is not connected to the ship's wheel , but this area could also be an emergency steering position, with people pushing / pulling on the round black painted bar to move the rudder and hence turn the ship. [note also the iron straps on the hull][no idea about the white pipework]

Stern view ... more tube worm, some mussels, barnacles / limpets - considering she has been afloat for at least three years longer than anticipated, the anti-fouling [helped by the ironstone stain in Nov 2022] hasn't done too badly.
